On this morning’s trail run out in Three Peaks Recreation Area, Roxy was moving around while I was trying to take a photo of her. The Google panorama tool helpfully stitched the images together and made a “panorama” of the event, even though that wasn’t really my intent. The result was pretty funny.
I’m not sure I can handle two Roxies.
It’s well acknowledged that the Google panorama AI is pretty cool, but also kind of buggy. Sometimes it recognizes stitchable photos and puts them together immediately. Often, though, it fails to make panoramas even when you really want it to, and there’s no way to force it to happen. The algorithm has to want to make a panorama.
Sometimes, it fails in epic ways.
