Freak Flag for Riverton Arts Council

I love creating props, scenery and set pieces for theatrical productions. My daughter Megan played Teen Fiona in a production of “Shrek the Musical” with the Riverton Arts Council in Riverton, Utah. (I was originally supposed to be in the cast, but was unable to because of work conflicts.) Megan volunteered me to  create the Freak Flag for  her production.

Let Your Freak Flag Wave

If you’ve never seen the show, you should know there’s a song in which the fairy tale creatures sing about what it’s like to be different and how that’s a good thing. Here’s a clip of the song:

(Yeah, there’s some not-great singing in there. Sorry about that.)

As with the previous Freak Flag I created, this one was created as a parody of the flag from “Les Miserables.” Here’s the flag:

The flag is now proudly displayed on the wall in Megan’s bedroom.
