June 3 was Global Running Day, “a worldwide celebration of running that encourages everyone to get moving.” Even though we’re in the middle of a global pandemic, our county has been mostly spared the trauma and hysteria that’s hit so hard in so many places.
The theme for this year was “Run 1, Tag 1.” We were supposed to run 1 mile for someone who inspires us, and tag a friend to do the same. I ended up tagging several of my running friends on social media.
As the guy in charge of our local running club, I organized two small events to celebrate Global Running Day:
13th HOLE TRAIL RUN. Early-morning runners met at 6:30 a.m. at Trailhead Park to run the 13th Hole trail, which is a 5K loop. Some of us did two loops, yin-yang style.
ENOCH ROAD RUN. Afternoon runners met at 7:30 p.m. in Enoch. One of our members led the group on a 4.5-mile loop through scenic downtown Enoch.
